The catalogue. Today it is built from the houses listed on the Library page. Each record carries the design name, the reference, the colour name, the mill's specifications and the mill's photograph. The colour is measured on that photograph (CIE Lab, D65) and the match is a colour distance (delta E 2000), never an opinion.
The watch. Twice a week, Wednesday and Sunday, the mills are watched: a new fabric is added, a fabric the mill withdraws is hidden from search, kept on file and never offered as available. Each record carries the date its mill was last read.
Before each release. A sample of records is checked against the mill's published page or, where a mill closes its site to robots, against the copy read at harvest: name, reference, picture (compared pixel by pixel) and specifications. A difference blocks the release. The report of the last pass is kept and can be shown to an auditor.
Availability. A fabric shown is a fabric the mill published when it was last read. Availability, lead time and price are the mill's, and can only be confirmed by the mill. Colours are shown as photographed by the mill and may differ from the fabric in hand. Confirm every colour on a physical sample before ordering.
