Kuwait City has one of the harshest summers in the region: dry, extremely hot, with dust storms that can cover a terrace in an afternoon. Winters are short and cool. Interiors are sealed and cooled year round, so fabrics live under artificial light, in dry air, with dust as the daily wear. Tight weaves, colours that do not fade near a window, and an easy cleaning routine come first.
Homes are large and family run: the diwaniya, the reception room where guests are received, often gets its own fabric scheme, separate from the family living room and the dining room. Beyond the residence, studios work on offices in the city centre, hotels along the Gulf Road, restaurants and clinics. Volumes are substantial, and a single house can call for several upholstery qualities and long runs of curtain fabric.
Fabric Library, Al Guthmi, Pierre Frey and Ultrafabrics are the four mills at launch. Cuttings from the Gulf reach Kuwait by courier within days; European mills take longer. Confirming the colour on a physical sample under the room's lighting remains the last step before an order.
WEAVRA searches these collections by measured colour, material, wear and use, keeps the fabrics that hold in one selection, and prints an A4 presentation under the WEAVRA name. No price appears on the page: the order stays between the studio and the mill.
